All this sunshine… All this warm weather.. All the soft breezes…All the perfectly mild evenings…All this for me????

Hot Peppers

Sweet Peppers and Tomatoes

Bringing some water to her daddy.  Sweet Thing 2!

Catching some air on the trampoline

Chillaxin in the Pergola

Yeah, I know… Coolness…

The clothes line I’ve been asking for finally happened!

Thing 2 planted these for me

She had so much fun planting

The dogs needed to find shade… Why?

Enjoyed my sister and her family visiting

Grilling out and eating in the pergola

Did I mention how much I love my pergola?

The bestest sister ever!

Her first S’more ever.

We were obviously deprived children.

The kids loved roasting marshmallows.

I made my own fire and cooked this chicken all by myself!  Yay me!

Today, Thing 1, Thing 2 and I had our very own Ultimate Mixer Competition while making some Banana Bread for The Hubby’s employees.  The goal in this competition was to decide which mixer created the greatest quality batter.  The three mixers in the competition were:

1)  The Stand Mixer

2)  The Handheld Electric Mixer

3)  The Old Fashion Wisk

Tune in below to meet the competitors and their mixers.

And away we went!  With the pre-measured ingredients, the batters mixed up really fast.  As I had suspected, Thing 2 finished her batter first.  Thing 1 and I finished after her; respectively.   How did the batters turn out?  Tune in below to see.

Next we poured our batters into our designated pans and put them in the oven.  Thing 1 chose the large loaf pan, Thing 2 chose the muffin cups, and I, The Milk Maid, chose the mini loaf pan.  Due to the different sizes of each loaf/muffin, they took different amounts of time in the oven.  In the end, they all turned out beautifully!

Thing 1’s Banana Bread

Thing 2’s Banana Muffins

The Milk Maid’s Banana Mini Loafs

I guess in the end, we are all winners.  It is more about the individual cook’s preference than the tool itself.  The banana breads were well received by the employees and will also be enjoyed by their families.

A special thanks to Thing 1 and Thing 2 for participating in this competition!
