I could sit and soak up this luscious sunshine. It’s radiant rays beg for me to drink them in. I can’t stay inside, I must experience this delicious warmth. We have had a bone chilling, to the core, kind of cold this winter. I’m sure my body temperature dropped a couple of degrees over the past 4 months. I found myself in constant need for extra layers and wool socks. But… This sunshine…. This 80 degree weather…. It has restored my body to it tropical roots. (Okay, so I don’t really have tropical roots, but I should!)
Sunshine Boy came over again today for yet another day of forming up my square foot garden beds. I’m loving me some beds! They are awesome! The Hubby’s idea of making them with landscaping bricks was genius. I feel like they belong in a Better Homes and Gardens Magazine. They are beautiful and will be even more so after all my lovely veggies start sprouting and delivering some harvest. I have a total of eight 4X4 beds so far. Six of them have been planted.
Planted so far: Brussels Sprouts, Broccoli, Onions, Lettuce, Egyptian Walking Onions, Shallots, Garlic, and Strawberries.
I cleaned my pergola. Love my pergola! I called it a pavilion till about a month ago when I realized it was called a pergola. Love my pergola! The Hubby built it last spring and we have used it ever since. Love my pergola! He also built a fire pit at the end of it that will eventually be like an outdoor fire place/oven… but that is in the future… Did I mention that I love my pergola? I want to hang flower pots all around it and a porch swing! Love my pergola!
The Milk Maid
I’m going to have to come and sit in your pergola….
My garden is just not happening this year… don’t know if it will or not, but I’d love something like this. I think I will show it to David and see what he thinks… Maybe he will be motivated to make me a garden! I don’t mind the planting, the weeding and the harvesting, but building it is just not something I can do…
Ummm…I’m jealous! Love your pergola! Love your beds! Love the fact that they are planted! Love Sunshine Boy!
I’d better get a move on…you’ve inspired me!
Ps..Looks like SB did a pretty good job! Yay!
Nichole,
I am loving your pergola (pavillion in the N GA mtn slang) and your raised beds. I was thinking of doing some with herbs in them this year. Your place is starting to look like a Better Homes & Garden showplace. Isn’t it wrong to envy your neighbors? Cause I might be just a wee bit envious. . . lol! It is beautiful like you!

Very cool! I just did two 2’x6′ SFGs myself. But yours are so much more artistic!
Thank You! My husband is a contractor so I got to use all the left over block that was laying around.
